New release (It's been over a month since the last release.. a first for PSPRadio):
0.38.10 (r1159)
Get the releases here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=166538
The Dynamic version includes retawq and links2 plugins.

0.38.10 (r1159) (2006-05-19)
NEW FEATURES
(raf) Core/(Links2): Updated/enhanced pthreads implementation.
(raf) Core/SHOUTcast: The SHOUTcast request string can now be specified in the configuration file.
(sandberg) Dyn/Core: -Prepared the plugin framework for game plugins.
(sandberg) Dyn/Retawq: -Modified Retawq plugin to use danzeff for inputs.
(raf) Dyn: If plugin load fails because of lack of memory, then the message displayed on the screen will say so.
(raf) Dyn/Code: Now PSPRadio allocates 6MB instead of 8MB or RAM. This to give more RAM to plugins.
(danzel) Core: Added lite version to danzeff library.
(sandberg) Core: Added GU version to danzeff library.
(raf) Dyn/Retawq: -Updated code to take advantage of changes to newlib (for pipes/file descriptors/sockets)
(raf) Dyn/Retawq: -Cleaned up the code to make it easier to update when a new version of retawq is available.
BUG FIXES
(raf) Calling network termination functions before exit -- hope this helps exit when using eLoader.
(raf) When a socket closed, writestring() would keep trying to send, and keep reporting errors, filling up the event queue, and causing pspradio to exit. Thanks PSP KEVIN for the report.

| The new version of the Links2 plugin makes the stream skip pretty bad no matter what the clock speed. I can't even load a page without images without the stream skipping and judging by the sound and quick reconnect, its not the speed of the connection. I tried using the older plugin, but its not compatible (says its out of memory automatically). Thanks for the SSL support in the plugin version as well, really can't wait until I can use a stream and Links at the same time again. |

i had an interesting discovery ^^
when i installed this version of pspradio (clean install, no old files) i suddenly found no entry in the plugin menu.
swiching to loglevel 20 gave me this info:

as you can see he doesnt seem to find any plugins, even if they are there. what he finds is my logfile and my modified config...
examining what makes these files different from the others i fount that these are the only ones wit set archive attribute.
seting this attribute on all files in the psp dir gave me my old beloved effect. every entry was there twice
And yes, i extracted the archive directly to the PSP and moved it afterwards to the the location i wanted it to be.
(after i set the archive attribute)

Thanks for the report.. very interesting.. I'll look into how I generate the zip file and if I can change file attributes at that point...

hmm,
maybe its possible to let the core read files regardless of their attibutes.
when I had it changed, so that the directories had no archive attribute I had problems to load the latst shoutcast DB (only tried once)
so I set it on all config and db files.
after that everything seemed to work fine for me.
Still, at the moment I would prefere a links2-less (or a version with deactivatable links2 (reserve resources on demand?)) PspRadio.
it seemed more stable without.
Don't missunderstand me, Links2 is one of the greatest things to happen to the 1.5 PSP since Homebrew was brought to it (I mean WOW a full featured Browser!!!) but maybe its a bit overdone as a plugin for a WebRadioPlayer that is no second to it. Maybe there is a way to integrate a rss stramer into retwaq, I dont think you need Java suport, multiple lenguage support and graphics (let alone animated gif's) to browse to your Audio rss feed, I hope a textbrowser would suffice.
On the other hand PSP users were in bad need for a thing like Links2. This Browser is by far superior to the one on 2.0. It has an absolute right to stand for itself, and i belive it still needs a lot of care with its memory issues, maybe a MS caching would not be so bad. But I belive that is a whole new project. And with a look at the other PsPRadio plugins (netscan crashes my network conection so i need to restart PsPRadio and nearly i wrote something negative about the FTPD why didnt somebody scream loud that it works now?? I can connect via wifi with a ftp program to my psp =D)... so, uhm i think Links2 could use more atention then a plugin would get =)
In short, i belive Links2PsP and PsPRadio are 2 different projects wich are both realy realy great! _________________ 1.52 PSP 1004

I would hate to fragment pspradio even more. It's already too fragmented for my tastes. The main reason you want links on pspradio is so you can enable internet connection at a particular hot-spot, and then be able to go back to the radio..
Is FTPD really working? I changed some priorities, hoping thet would make it work, but haven't had time to do anything lately, and didn't test it.. great news!

0.38.10 works fine, except the small shoutcast DB. But in 0.38.11 99% of the streams hang with the "opening stream" message, just as the versions before 0.38.92 |
